A few thoughts

One: I found out tonight I have competition for the SGA position I am running for.....

Two:I want to write a movie script that requires U2's With or Without you at least once on the soundtrack. I think it's the best movie song ever.

Three: Only 10 more minutes or so until the Friday Five! This week went really fast

man, I'm a word nerd. but oh well. it's my thing so like me for it or don't. whatever :-)

Wednesday's Word

I decided I needed my only little blogging niche. So I decided since I'm a prof writing and marketing major and becaue I want to increase my vocabulary, I shall try to help increase your's also. So here I introduce Wednesday's Word (and yes I know it's thursday now but I just thought of doing this and there isn't any vocab word realated to T that I could think of, so it's W,W) I'll be using m-w.com for my word source.

Today's word is:

nexus \NEK-sus\ (noun)
*1 : connection, link; also : a causal link
2 : a connected group or series
3 : center, focus

Example sentence:
When he was a jounalist, John wrote about the nexus between politicians and big business.

Wow, isn't this exciting?

I have the best friends

I had a good laugh when I saw the comments to that last post along with Tiff's website. I was joking guys!!!!! LOL. Man, I need to see all you guys. Tiff, any way you can come home anytime between the 22-30 of March?? We'll have to try and work something out, maybe I can get someone to come down there with me for a day. We'll see, Tiff.

I link to these people but I get no respect back. I'm hurt. Thank you Aaron for linking to me!

By the way, this is just something I noticed. I'm not serious about anyone having to link to me.

Yikes

I didn't get a lot of sleep last night. I had two extremely weird dreams and they kept me up. I have a headache. I wish I could enjoy the beautiful snowy weather...

Actual Content

I just realized it's been a long, long time since I put anything "real" on this site. I'm not sure why that is. Maybe it's the novelty of having a blog has worn out. Maybe it's because I just don't stick to habits. (Oxymoron, I know.) But I think it's just been the way life has been lately. I've had friends in high emotional time, I've had a friend in the hospital, both of my Grandpa's aren't doing well, and well, I'm in college, enough said there. I also just found out one of my friends might have his world taken out from underneath him. He'll know in about two hours... The last couple weeks, while all this has been going on, I've had one song stuck in my head at least twice a day. And it's the song I need to remember. Perhaps you've heard it.

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow.
Praise Him all creatures here below.
Praise Him above, ye heavenly hosts.
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Amen.

Our God is truely an AWESOME God. And without Him, I don't know where I'd be right now.

This makes me so incredibly sad. I couldn't imagine being one of the people who's family member's body was treated this way.

Friday Five

Here's this weeks Friday Five. It's about time that it's friday!

1. Hey, baby, what's your sign? Do you think it fits you pretty well? Taurus. Yeah, I'm a bull head.

2. What's the worst birthday gift you've ever received? I have no idea. I got New Kids on the Block concert tickets when I was in 4th grade. It was the coolest thing ever then. But now it's not so cool, lol

3. What's the best birthday gift you've ever received? The fact I've always had my whole family there to celebrate it with me.

4. What's the best way you've celebrated your birthday thus far? I went to Prom with Alexis last year on my birthday. Definitely numero uno

5. What are your plans for this weekend? Sleeping in on Saturday, a movie day at some point, and going out with Alexis, Jeniece, Josh, Terri and Chris at some point, I'm really looking forward to that

Underdogs Rule

I went for the Pats in the Super Bowl. Go me. I went for the 16 year old chica in the skating thing. Go me.

Gotta love the underdogs.

Frustration Solved. For now...

I apologize for the pop-up ads but I'd rather have the web page look better and close pop up window. Besides, at least it's not a mini-security camera ad or anything!

Frustrated.

I'm getting more and more sick of the banner ads on the top of my pages. Tripod... you're easy to use but why the top? I'd even be happier if it was at the bottom of the page. I wish I had the money to get my own domain. but i'm not that commited to my web site. It would end up being a waste of money. Oh well. I guess I'll just deal for now. :-p

Sepia and Such

I got version 2.0 up today. Hopefully it's all working. This is a lot better looking then my original design. (Despite the errors I have to fix at some point.)

Interview With God

Take the time to watch this. It's very much worth your time.

Finally

I finally updated the writings page. I added 13 things, I think. Yeah, I was a little behind. I also added a new index page and made the main page a little more readable. But the color still needs work. Not now though. I need to do homework.

I'm still alive and kickin'. Just been really busy.

St. Valentine, thank you for being worth a day

Today was great!!! Alexis liked what I got her, I loved what she got me, and we had a lot of fun. We, Chris, Terri, Janiece, and Josh got together for sundaes and Moulin Rouge. (Actually J/J missed the ice cream but oh well). But we had a great time. Moulin Rouge is awesome. Not as awesome as spending time with good friends, but for a movie, it's awesome. Anyways, I'm rambling. I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day (even you Tiff). I know I did.

:-)

Today was very good. Classes weren't too bad. I emphasis "too". But the rest was great. I did some shopping, did some fun stuff, and finished the day off with the Valentine's Banquet. Finger foods, dancing (shh, don't tell our school president), a good time with Chris and Terri, and to top it off, Alexis and I won the dating game :-) We competed against a couple that had been dating for a month and a married couple. It was fun, plus we won $20 at Bob Evans. You can't beat that.

Cleveland Indians News

I don't like the I's. I think it's a start in phasing out the chief wahoo. I'm not impressed.

Anyways. I decided to run for Student Government. It's the Promotional Chair position. I figure, it's writing, it's marketing, those are my majors. Not only having experience in those but having them in Student Government would probably be a good thing to have. Plus it's a paid position :-) As of now I'm running unopposed. So we'll see what happens.

Selfish?

Here's a thought I had tonight at work. When someone asks you how you are, is it selfish not to ask how they are doing? Or is it ok to just answer and be glad someone cared? Or when someone tells you that you look nice. Like, a few weeks ago at church, someone said I looked really sharp in the suit I was wearing. I said "thanks" and the person looked at me and said "well, I guess I don't". Was I wrong in just being glad someone said something to me? That doesn't happen to me a lot, so I was just glad it happened. Or on the other side, is it selfish to expect a reply when you ask someone how they are doing? I really can't decided how I feel about that... opinions anyone?

This is the first time in a long time I've been able to turn up music as loud as I want and just soak it in. I think that's why I've been so edgy lately. I need this.

Today turned out pretty good. Good church service, got a lot of homework accomplished. Had some fun. Notice every time I say I have a good day there is always something holding it back? Today it's because I burnt two of my fingers. So once again, a perfect day foiled :-)

Someone tell me how that site is related to what's on it.... please?

Well day one of classes done. I'm not sure if I like my MWF schedule or not. It's rough having 6 hours of stuff in a row but it's nice having a break from 2:30ish to 6 until I go to work for another hour. Tomorrow will also be interesting have two hour and a half long classes smashed right in the middle of the day. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

By the way, I'm up to 3 text books I've saved a load on thanks to half.com. That's 3 plugs, do I get paid for that?

Half.com: The Smartest Place to Buy and Sell Books, Music, Movies, Games and more...

Another plug for half.com
I just got two of my text books for $20 cheaper then the cruddy bookstore on campus :-D :-D

This honestly just popped into my head out of no where.

What in the world is the point of the song "I'm a little teapot"? Seriously! I mean, is it to teach children what a teapot does? Is it just to see how ridiculous a child will make themself look? I see no educational value in it besides learning how to operate a tea kettle. Kids should be using tea kettles anyways! They'll burn themselves! All I can think of is it started in England for tea time or something. I don't know...

I'm back at school, I have a class at 8 in the morning.

Today didn't turn out as planned, but it was alright. Alexis and I made dinner for her parents and had planned on coming here to watch a movie but instead we went and picked up her new computer. Yes, for those of you following this blog, the old one never got fixed, it was junked. Stupid viruses. Oh well, her mom was really cool and bought her a new, very nice, system that will work. We didn't have time to watch the movie but the time we got back so we played cards with her parents for awhile and then I came home early to get packing and such so we can leave at a decent time tomorrow.

I had a really thoughtful thing to post but I can't remember what it was...

Super Sunday

Today was cool. A group of my college friends and I went to Matt's for a Super Bowl party. My pick won. I learned a new card game. There were some decent commercials. And most importantly, the guys (me, Matt, and Chris) kicked the girls (Alexis, Teal, and Janice) butts at keep away :-)

Super-D-Duper Friday

Ok, I appologize for my use of "Super-D-Duper" but today was so great. Alexis and I came home for break and went to the mall in Strongsville. We were there for a few hours then went to Friday's to eat (on Friday, what a concept!). After that we went to Target and then headed home, visited with my parents for awhile, then went to her house and visited with her parents. It was just a lot of fun.

By the way, to update my Friday Five, my Saturday will be spent sleeping in, going shopping, going to Lex's for awhile, then going to the B-ball game.

Half.com

I just got my favorite book here for $5 including shipping. So, yeah, I'm recommending it!

bedtime

I about to face one of my biggest fears. Our room had been the same the entire fall/january semester so I rearranged. Unfortunatly, the only way to rearrange the beds was to bunk them, and I took the top bunk.

I think I'm going to fall and get hurt... but, hey, at least the room is different ;-)

Dr. Kim

This is a list of entertaining things my Communications professor said in my fall semester class. He's Korean and had been in America for quite a while but still says some interesting things. I am not making fun of him. I have a lot of respect for him. However, I think he's entertaining.

- Look at me, I'm broccoli man!
- Actually it's more than wonderful. It's twoderful!
- Editor needed to check goodness of the manuscript
- Oprah Winfrey, oh I love her. Even though I never met her.
- Oh, you are very tall! What did you eat?
- You are chewing chewing gum. Chewing chewing. Twice.
- I read that book five times. Very boring book.
- Devil worship, there's another bad thing.
- That's the way how...
- (student sneezes) God bless you and God bless America!
- I'm messing up because I am messy communications professor
- That is so-so. Or so squared.
- blank sheeeeeeeeet. I need to be very careful pronouncing that word.
- A little bit of violence, a little bit of sex, a little bit of bad things.
- Any questions do you have?
- Kathern Hepburn was my cover girl. Now she is cover grandmother.
- Anyway, he died.
- How do American dogs bark?
- Spunky? What the heck is that?
- I have accent. Obiouswy.

Friday Five!

Friday Five

1. Have you ever had braces? Any other teeth trauma? Retainers, Braces, all four wisdom teeth out (while awake)
2. Ever broken any bones? nope, knock on wood
3. Ever had stitches? When I was one, I don't hit my forehead above my eye twice in the same day. My only hospital visit, knock on wood
4. What are the stories behind some of your [physical] scars? I don't have any interesting scar stories either, sorry
5. How do you plan to spend your weekend? Today, going home, shopping. Saturday- I have no idea. Sunday- honors band and SUPER BOWL PARTY!!! WOO HOO!!! At Brazil by the way.
