In about 10 minutes it will be August. That means it's the month we go back to school. Yay. If I knew how to do code for a countdown, I would. But I'm computer illiterate. So I won't. But yeah. I'm happy it's August.

I'll hopefully be putting my camera to use soon. For some reason, I installed it on my laptop first and that's not connected to the internet. So I need to set it up on this computer and then we'll get things rolling. Anybody recommend an online picture storer album thing?

I hope the raise in stamp prices contributes to schooling for the postal workers.

I watched Field of Dreams for the first time today.

I wish baseball players now loved the game that much and weren't just in it for the money...

If you don't mind subtitles, I highly recommend Amelie. It's very funny, it's very fun.

It was also interesting watching a movie and French and realizing how much you don't learn in two years of high school second language classes.

Dear radio stations,

Please stop playing A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton. While I think it's a great song and really like both the piano and vocals. I cannot hear it again or I'm afraid my head will explode. I hoped the overplaying would end for the summer, but it has yet to cease. I think it has almost been played more than the previous song about walking long distances (by The Proclaimers) and that was released in the late 80's or early 90's. Just because it involves twice the mileage it doesn't necessarily mean it should be played twice as many hours.

Thank you,
Ross

PS- I know Tiff already made a plea a few months ago to the world of television, I thought I'd try a nicer approach since her's didn't seem to work.

How often do you find a song that you can pay tribute to Mr. Rohr and Tiff at the same time? I found one!

As short as American's attentions spans may get. I am convinced there is one thing that the human race will never tire of: sticking our hands out of an open car window and playing with the wind. I find it so funny to follow someone for five miles and the whole time their hand is out the window doing the "up and down" thing, and the "closed fingers/open fingers" deal, the "see how far my hand can be pulled back" game, etc., etc. I'm not pleading innocent, I do it every now and then, too. I think everybody does. Innocently driving down the road, you stretch your arms out, one out the open window and BAM! the wind catches your arm. "Whoa, that's pretty cool!" Doesn't matter how many times you've done it, it's always, "Hey, that's cool!"

I guess this is one of the harder-to-explain parts of human nature.

Went to Walmart and got a digital camera today. Cheapest one I could find, but I'm just glad to have one.

On the way there I saw Abe in his 'Stang. Looks darn good, buddy.

I can't wait for school to start again. I cannot wait until August 31st when I take all my stuff, shove it into my car and head back to MVNU. A lot of people, college age and not, think I'm crazy. "Why do you want to go back to school so bad?"

The answer is simple: I finally like school. Don't get my wrong, I liked high school. For drama and choir and social time. As for history, math, science, and the like, I hated it. I finally got through all those classes I'll probably never need both high school and core classes at MVNU and into the stuff I've wanted to learn about for a long time. About the fine points of writing and how the business world works. Not only do I enjoy this stuff, I'm actually kinda good at it. I'm getting the best grades of my life and I finally have the motivation and this whole summer thing is really starting to get to me. I want to learn! Not go work in a library every day. I've done that way too long.

Which brings us to the second reason I want to go back to school. I get a new line of work. For a year and a half at school and two summers in Dalton (and now wooster) I've worked in a library. I'm very forward to a new job (three actually) so that I can get away from the annoyance that is a library. There is the iccesent beeping when checking books in or out, the patrons that won't learn how to use a computer so they can order their own list of a dozen books, and those who come in only 10 minutes before closing. I know no job is perfect, but I need a change of pace.

Then there are the more obvious reasons: getting away from my hormonally-charged teenage brother, living in an apartment with the guys, seeing my classmates, being closer to Columbus, and all those good things.

It's not that I don't like my family, or Dalton for that matter. It's just that being at school, makes me feel more at home.

Another week another sunburn....

I will write something meaningful soon. I just don't know what yet.

Yesterday was a good day. Why?

**Had quality time with Alexis
**Guys night out at BW3's
**Ordered my Laptop
**Spent a couple hours in the pool
**Found out there's still hope at all three places I applied

7.8.2002

I'm still here. Just not a lot to blog about.

7.5.2002

I hope everybody had a great of 4th as I did. I'll spare you all the details, but wow, what a day.

What I will tell you is watching fireworks from 200-300 yards away from where they are being shot off is really cool. Especially when it's on flat ground and you can watch them go from the ground all the way up.

Oh, and Men In Black II is pretty good. It's about as equally good as the first, neither better nor worse.

What a crock.

AOL has a poll for best patriotic song and "American Boy" isn't on the list! Can you believe that?

If that isn't a sign this country is going down the tubes, I don't know what is.

I think I figured it out.

I didn't wear my glasses to work today I fogot them and was running late so I didn't go back. My glasses are for long distance, mostly while driving and at night, but I wear them all the time. When I don't wear them, my eyes get tired and I get sort of a headache.

So I think that's why I was in a bad mood. Although, I'm not in a bad mood now and I still haven't put on my glasses... so I could be wrong.

I'm in a really bad mood today.

I don't know why.

I had a great day yesterday and got like 10 hours of sleep but I'm just in a lousy mood.
