I don't mean to be mean, but it's about freakin' time. One has to wonder though, if he still would have died at that exact day and time if he was still pretending to matter in the senate.

Tom posted about baseball. I commented and decided to transfer it over here.

1) I like the DH. I'd hate to see a great hitter like Eddie Murray, Edgar Martinez, or Ellis Burks sent into early retirement because they can no longer play the field every day. Hitting is a big part of baseball and it should be recoginized. I would much rather see Edgar step up to the plate then Jeff Nelson or some other M's pitcher. I was at the Tribe/Reds game a few years back when Burba smashed one to deep left, but that's about as good as I've seen a pitcher bat. Seeing the Big Unit taking a swing is damaging to the eye. Having that crappy #9 spot on every NL team is not a good thing. Also, I think the NL would be better off if Bonds and Sammy could start playing DH in a few years. They might end up going American just so they can extend their careers, leaving the teams they made history with. It is an issue that will never be resolved.

2) I like fighting in baseball. As much as I love the sport, it can get boring. This ads a little spice every now and then. The Farnsworth plant might have been the best thing I've seen this season. I'm not saying they should be throwing down every game, but it's nice to have every now and then.

3) I think the thing that needs done the most is the banishment of the Questec system. It's crappy and it's ruining the game. Keep technology out. Especially when it doesn't work that well.

4) Number two on my things to change list would be un-expansion. I would get rid of the D-Rays, Rockies, and Padres. Why these three? They really don't have a history. They haven't won a World Series (at least not to my knowledge) and they haven't really had any great, great players (minus Tony Gwyn).

5) I'm ticked at the Tribe for trading Karim Garcia and a pitcher to the Yankees for a player to be named. I hate it when teams help out the Yankees, and now it's my favorite team that is guilty. I liked Garcia (although I know they dont' have room for him) I say they should have traded Matt Lawton. Yes, they would have had to eat his salary, but sometimes you need to pay for your mistakes. Gerut, Bradley and Garcia would have been a great outfield, and linup, for the future.
1) Milton Bradley (CF)
2) Brandon Phillips (SS)
3) Karim Garcia (RF)
4) Travis Haefner (DH)
5) Casey Blake (3B)
6) Victor Martienez (C)
7) Ben Broussard (1B)
8) John McDonald (2B)
9) Jody Gerut (LF)
That lineup is actually pretty good looking (in 2 or 3 years) now they need a new right fielder -possibly Coco Crisp?- and probably a better second baseman.
You know, the tribe is only 10 games back. If their lineup gets hot, they could have a chance yet this year.

Not much to talk about. Still no job prospects. Not much going on.

Well, I didn't get the job at Lodi. I'm really bummed. I'm going to call down to school Monday and see if they have anything open, I wouldn't mind moving back down there for the rest of the summer. I'm also going to try that Marketing place up by Cleveland again. I really, really need and want a job. I'm tired of being bored and I need money in the bank very badly. ...c'est le vie de Dalton...

Just a few random notes from today:

**I am so incredibly sick of 50 Cent. I never liked him in the first place, but now he's freakin' everywhere. He has like 17 singles on the radio, all the music channels on TV, I heard he's making a movie. GO AWAY! You are NOT TALENTED! Did anyone see his perfomance at the MTV Movie Awards? The man has ZERO rhythm. Yes, he can rap, but he can't move his body to the same beat as the beat. Why is charisma so rewarded in this country? He doesn't even have that much of it. Hopefully he's like Sisqo a few years ago and goes away at summers end. Of course, "The Dragon" only had one hit. So it wasn't quite as annoying.

** What in the name of the Cheeseburgler is McDonald's trying to accomplish with a marketing campaign of "It's bizarre, but not that bizarre" for their new breakfast griddle things?! That's is the worst tag line I have EVER heard! Why would you call your product, ESPECIALLY when it's FOOD, BIZARRE! UGH! Not that I like McDonalds or care if they sell anything, but c'mon people! Your company lost money for the first time EVER last year and you come back with bizarre?! Somebody in that company needs fired.

** It looks like I finally might get to go somewhere for Spring Break and I finally might set food on an airplane (not counting the time I went on a small plane at Beach City Airport when I was like five). I got word that a student government mission trip to Jamaica is being planned. We would be taking down computers, setting them up, and showing them how to use them. It sounds like it could be fun, and I'd be in Jamaica. Not Ohio. Little big of a difference there.

** I've decided I'm going to teach myself how to set up a blog template. Hopefully to be done by the end of summer. Why so long? One: I'm teaching myself how to do it, and Two: I have big plans for it.

Uncle Jesse is doing 10-10-987 commercials. What is the world coming to? Of course, he can always fall back on the fact that he's married to her to save his dignity.

6.17.2003

Everything seems to work but the comments, I'll handle that later.

Ok, I'm at it again. Wish me luck.

I decided it was time for a change in scenery. Bare with me as I try and get things right again.

The new skin I picked out didn't work very well at all. So I'll get to changing things around tonight or tomorrow or later. I wish I knew HTML so I could just do it myself.

I'm getting really frustrated with my laptop. It tells me that the CDR/CDRW driver has been disabled but it doesn't how to tell me to turn it back on. It says it's fine and running in the device profiler. I'm not sure what to do, but that CD burner is very important for me to be able to use. Anyone have any suggestions? I've tried installing a new version of Windows Media Player, which is all my computer provided to burn CDs. I also tried installing a version of Easy CD Creator and Nero to see if those would work and that didn't do it either. It will say it's buring a CD, but it comes out empty. It's odd.

6.10.2003

Job search is kinda slow. I have an interview Thursday for a new outlet store up at Lodi. I also got an offer to work three days a week at the video store in Strasburgh, but that's a haul for how crappy they pay. (I don't know if I've mentioned this, but I'm also working very part time in the video store at Dalton.) I've also applied at Lowe's and Bed Bath and Beyond which are both hiring, and a few places that aren't. So we'll see.

By the way, Justin Timberlake's "Rock Your Body" is on the radio right now, and I have this urge to say "Gonna have ya nekkid, by the end'a this blog." But I won't.

6.7.2003

Well, I quit the Knife selling business. Actually, I hadn't really started. I'd had a 3 hour interview and 11 hours worth of training. Basically, I really didn't feel comfortable going into other peoples' homes and doing the presentation I was supposed to give the way I was supposed to give it. The knives are great. But I just don't have the personalitly to flat out show that the knives the person owns are junk. I just don't feel right about that. It didn't feel like I was in the right place. I know I gave up a job in the jobless summer of 2003, but I really feel at peace with the decision I made and feel confident I will get something else and soon.

Oxford's Bling Blingin'

** Ok, so I just saw Tiff was first to the bling bling. Oh well, ain't no thing. Something about chicken wings. I'm not sure how it goes. Dang. I'll never be hip...

How dissapointing. Sosa with a corked bat? Ouch. Here's what I think, he just came off the DL and while he was injured decided to use ol' Corky for awhile to get back to his normal numbers.

By the way, does anyone else remember the TV show that had the mentally retarded kid named Corky? I just though of that for some reason. I don't think I was allowed to watch it. It was on late or something. Anywho...
