"I'm here to regulate funkiness" -The Mexican
If you don't mind subtitles, I highly recommend Amelie. It's very funny, it's very fun.
It was also interesting watching a movie and French and realizing how much you don't learn in two years of high school second language classes.posted by RMK | 12:36 AM
Dear radio stations,
Please stop playing A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton. While I think it's a great song and really like both the piano and vocals. I cannot hear it again or I'm afraid my head will explode. I hoped the overplaying would end for the summer, but it has yet to cease. I think it has almost been played more than the previous song about walking long distances (by The Proclaimers) and that was released in the late 80's or early 90's. Just because it involves twice the mileage it doesn't necessarily mean it should be played twice as many hours.
How often do you find a song that you can pay tribute to Mr. Rohr and Tiff at the same time? I found one!posted by RMK | 6:40 PM
As short as American's attentions spans may get. I am convinced there is one thing that the human race will never tire of: sticking our hands out of an open car window and playing with the wind. I find it so funny to follow someone for five miles and the whole time their hand is out the window doing the "up and down" thing, and the "closed fingers/open fingers" deal, the "see how far my hand can be pulled back" game, etc., etc. I'm not pleading innocent, I do it every now and then, too. I think everybody does. Innocently driving down the road, you stretch your arms out, one out the open window and BAM! the wind catches your arm. "Whoa, that's pretty cool!" Doesn't matter how many times you've done it, it's always, "Hey, that's cool!"
I guess this is one of the harder-to-explain parts of human nature.posted by RMK | 6:35 PM
