Opinions and Beliefs: Drinking

Let's talk about drinking. Well, I'll talk you read.

Drinking involves consuming an alcholic beverage. I don't care how much or how little.
My personal experience with drinking is this: my grandma made me take a sip of champange a few years ago on New Years. I still regret not telling her no more sternly. I've seen several of my friends drinking and drunk and I've had pretty much no respect for them since.
Why do I think drinking is so bad? Well for one part of this, I'm going to turn to some of the things my Marketing prof was saying the other day. She said that even if you just try alchohol, just a daquari here or a wine cooler there, you're still opening the door to bigger potenital problems. If you get dumped or someone dies or something, you are very very more likey to turn to alchohol if you've tried it before then if you've never touched it.
One thing I've never understood is why in the world people would even WANT to drink. It makes you smell nasty, throw up, wake up with a nasty headache, do completly stupid things, and it just plaid takes you out of control of who you are. You can't think straight, see straight, act straight, whatever. I hate throwing up with a passion, I would never do anything to induce it on purpose. I don't understand how drinking can make a person feel good. It makes you sick. Your body doesn't like it. It detiorates many places within your body as it goes through your system. HOW IS THAT GOOD?! All for one night of forgetting some pain or acting like an idiot. I've always said I act strange enough when I'm sober, I don't want to know what I'd be like drunk. I'd like to say I'm one of many who go to parties just to laugh at the drunk people, but I don't find it funny. The people drinking are hurting themselves and calling it fun. Now some of you may be saying, "I've drank lots of times and I'm fine" yeah, maybe for now. But think of the things that could have happened when you were drunk. Think of the things that still could happen to your body as a result of it in the future. Think of all the people that have died because of direct (or inderect, in drunk driving) incidents. Is it really worth it?
I have a blast hanging out with my friends, I have tons of fun in life. Why would I need alchohol? What would that help? If I have a problem that's bothering me, I turn to friends. Why turn to a bottle? The bottle runs dry, friends are there forever if they're really friends. Friends don't cost money. Friends aren't against the law if you're under 21. And it's one o'clock am so I'm not going to get into the religious aspect, which is the most important. Yeah, they drank wine in the Bible, I know. But there's a difference between having a glass of wine and having some shots, some beer, some whiskey, until you don't know what's going on and you have to ask people what happened. Well, it's late, I need to get to bed. I apologize for the million typos that are probably in this, but I'm tired. I might fix them later.
